Mr Ahene

Mr Coker (left in the picture above) is a Ghanaian student pursuing a Master’s degree in Information and Communication Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu in tandem with his duties as the Vice-President in charge of Social Events at the International Students Union (ISU) of UESTC. Mr Coker attained First Class Honours in Telecommunication Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana before his enrolment at UESTC. Mr Coker was adjudged the “The Best Master’s Degree Student” in his faculty or school at UESTC. Attaining this prestigious award propelled him as a qualified candidate to compete for the “Most Outstanding International Student Award” at UESTC. Despite the stern competition, Mr Coker emerged the winner among other qualified candidates for the 2018/2019 academic year.

Mr Emmanuel Ahene (Right in the picture above) on the other hand, is a doctoral student pursuing Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu. He received his MEng. Degree in Computer Science and Technology from the UESTC in 2016. His current research interests include cryptography and network security. Mr Ahene is a graduate student member of IEEE. Just like his fellow country mate in the Master’s category, Mr Ahene was adjudged the best PhD student in his faculty or school at UESTC. In a keen competition among other qualified candidates from various faculties or schools at UESTC, Mr Ahene won the “Most Outstanding International Student Award”.

He topped it up by being adjudged “the overall best student” at UESTC for the 2018/2019 academic year during the UESTC’s grande student durbar.

For attaining such a remarkable feat, The National Union of Ghana Students in China (NUGS-China) wish to congratulate the aforementioned Ghanaian Students, for making the Ghanaian student community in China proud. We firmly believe this would propel other Ghanaian students, pursuing various programmes in different provinces to achieve similar feet. Congratulations on scaling new heights and setting new standards. May this success propel you to greater heights as you strive to climb higher on the academic ladder. We also wish to extend our congratulations to the other awardees in the 2018/2019 UESTC Awards.

Enjoy your success!

Signed
